These are available in three configurations: open, 9" closed, and 12" closed.
The open configuration protects the palm and the thumb, the areas where most of the wear occurs. In addition, the open design provides more dexterity for the fingers.
The closed configuration is available in two lengths: 9" and 12". The 12" length offers greater protection to the wrist, especially when carrying larger items.
All of these cover mitts are unlined, and are meant to be used over a glove or mitt.
